This Monday (5 November) welcomes the home entertainment DVD and Blu-ray release of The Exorcist director William Friedkin’s dark, noirish, southern-fried thriller Killer Joe (2011), starring a seemingly reborn Matthew McConaughey, Emile Hirsch and British actress Juno Temple. To celebrate, we’re extremely pleased to announce that we’ve kindly been provided with TWO DVD copies of the film to give away to our lucky readers, courtesy of the fantastic team over at Entertainment One. This is an exclusive competition for our Facebook and Twitter fans, so if you haven’t already, ‘Like’ us at or follow us @CineVue before answering the question below.

When small-time drug dealer Chris Smith (Hirsch) finds himself seriously in debt to his supplier, he hatches a plan to have his estranged mother (Gina Gershon) killed in order to claim the $50K life insurance due to be paid to his younger sister, Dottie (Temple). To do the job, he hires Killer Joe Cooper (McConaughey), a creepy, corrupt and crazy Dallas cop who Chris is informed moonlights as a professional hit man.

Unable to pay Joe’s fee upfront, Chris agrees to provide a ‘retainer’ in the form of Dottie, with whom Joe has immediately become besotted. However, following the murder of his mother, Chris’ plan begins to unravel in a series of unexpected twists involving the interference of his father’s new wife, Sharla, and the development of an unlikely bond between Joe and Dottie.

To be in with a chance of winning one of TWO DVD copies of William Friedkin’s Killer Joe, just answer the following simple question:
