A student enters a terrifying world of obsession and misery when she answers a job advertisement requesting a nanny in debut director Juanra Fernández’s atmospheric Spanish chiller For Elisa (2013), which screened at last year’s Film4 FrightFest. Held prisoner in a house full of antique toys, Ana (Ona Casamiquela) must overcome her deranged captors or become a living doll. To celebrate the long-awaited DVD release of For Elisa this coming Monday (30 June), we have THREE DVD copies of Fernández’s deeply unsettling spine-tingler to give away to our horror-loving readers, courtesy of Matchbox Films. This is an exclusive competition for our Facebook and Twitter fans, so if you haven’t already, ‘Like’ us at facebook.com/CineVueUK or follow @CineVue before answering the question.
Desperate to earn some extra money on the side whilst completing her degree, student Ana (Casamiquela) answers a job advert for a part-time nanny. Arriving at apartment 3B in the town square for the job interview, things couldn’t have gone better – tea, biscuits, nursery rhymes and a healthy hourly rate. Before long, however, Ana realises she has entered a terrifying dark world of obsession and misery. Kept prisoner in a creepy residence full of antique toys, Ana must try and overcome deranged diva Diamantina (Luisa Gavasa) and her daughter Elisa (Ana Turpin) to prevent herself from becoming just another possession in the house of 1000 dolls.
To be in with a chance of winning one of THREE copies of Juanra Fernández’s For Elisa on DVD, just answer the following simple question:
Which film from American horror director Adam Wingard (You’re Next) will open this year’s Film4 FrightFest?
