Arrow Films’ Nordic Noir label is pleased to confirm the UK DVD release of thrilling Swedish period drama Crimes of Passion. The series, currently airing in BBC Four’s coveted Saturday evening slot, is based on six novels by legendary crime writer Maria Lang, whose work helped shape the renowned murder mystery genre in Sweden. Each of the six episodes will also be available via iTunes the morning after their BBC Four transmission. Crimes of Passion is a period piece set in 1950s Sweden, primarily in the picturesque region of Bergslagen. The six-part series follows amateur detective Puck Ekstedt (Tuva Novotny), his fiancé Einar Bure and police superintendent Christer Wijk (Ola Rapace) as they attempt to uncover the murderous actions that inhabit their beautiful surroundings. Laced with intrigue, sex, betrayal, secrets and lies this new series is inspired by the popular novels of Swedish crime author Lang.
