Baftas 2013: Affleck’s ‘Argo’ wins big ahead of Oscars

Earlier this evening, returning host for the night Stephen Fry (who else – he was magnificent once again) announced the award winners for this year’s 2013 Baftas during a star-studded ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall – despite London’s Chinatown celebrations and a torrential rain/sleet storm. Pushed back to two weeks before the annual Academy Awards in order to boost its international profile, this was very much a dress rehearsal for next week’s main event. High profile winners on the night included Argo (Best Film, Best Director, Best Editing), Les Misérables (Best Supporting Actress, Make Up, Production Design and Sound) and Bond’s 23rd outing Skyfall (Outstanding British Film, Best Music).
