Special Feature: ‘The Keeper’ wins MOFILM Cannes 2011 Video Contest

With The Social Network (2010) and Holy Rollers (2010) star Jesse Eisenberg in attendance as lead judge, filmmakers Chris Bailey and Jake Naishwere’s mockumentary short The Keeper (2010) was announced as the winner of this year’s annual MOFILM Cannes 2011 Video Contest at the 58th Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity..

The Keeper is a quirky short about a man who makes a hobby of collecting and archiving his debit card statements in a scrapbook. What sounds like dull subject matter is actually surprisingly compelling, thanks in part to the direction of Bailey and Naishwere and also the film’s eccentric loner protagonist.

Created exclusively for MOFILM, an organisation which helps aspiring filmmakers create videos for big brands and social causes with the aid of industry talent such as Kevin Spacey, Jesse Eisenberg, Robert Redford, Isabella Rossellini and Spike Lee, The Keeper has enough about it to suggest a promising future may lie in store for both Bailey and Naishwere.
