Special Feature: Vote for CineVue in the RAFAs

We’re extremely happy to announce that CineVue has been nominated for Best UK Film Blog Site 2011 at this year’s Richard Attenborough Film Awards. Voting will begin at 12pm GMT (noon) on 12 December 2011 via the awards official site filmoftheyear.co.uk/public-vote and will close on 20 January 2012, with the winners in all categories announced by film critic James King on Thursday 26 January. If you enjoy our site, please click here and register your vote for CineVue as Best UK Film Blog. Other categories at the 6th annual Richard Attenborough Film Awards include Best British Star, Film Star of the Year and Most Anticipated Film.

What would be your Most Anticipated Film of 2012? Superhero behemoths The Dark Knight Rises – from visionary director Christopher Nolan – and Joss Whedon’s Marvel Comics mash-up The Avengers will surely be high on most film fan’s lists, as will Steven Spielberg’s War Horse, Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar, Margaret Thatcher biopic The Iron Lady, Ridley Scott’s Prometheus, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 and (of course) The Muppets. Personally, we’ve got our fingers crossed for a Ghostbusters 3 or Jurassic Park 4 (with the latter starring Mr. Attenborough himself as John Hammond, naturally). Lord Attenborough (brother of iconic Frozen Planet BBC narrator David) is probably best known for biopic Gandhi, 1982’s film of the year which went on to win eight Oscars and five Baftas including Best Picture and Best Director on both sides of the pond. Attenborough continues to fulfil his responsibilities as Chairman or President of numerous film industry bodies and charities, including the UK’s premier regional film awards the RAFAs.
